£500 kicks off centre's campaign to expand its counselling service
A DERBY firm is urging other companies to follow its lead in raising funds for a centre that supports vulnerable women in Derby.
Loss Recovery Services in Normanton has donated £500 to Derby Women's Centre – a charity that offers emotional support and guidance to vulnerable women.

The charity counsels women who are struggling to overcome a range of issues – including depression or recovery after traumatic experiences, such as domestic and sexual violence.
It is launching a fund-raising campaign to expand the currently oversubscribed counselling service.

First on board to show support was Imran Hamid, director of Loss Recovery Services. He said: "We're very pleased to be supporting Derby Women's Centre's fund-raising campaign.
"We strongly believe in helping local charities and we hope our contribution will encourage more businesses to show their support."
Every £5 worth of donations will directly fund a single counselling session.
On average, women who attend need 20 sessions of counselling in order to start to rebuild their lives.
That means that the donation from Loss Recovery services will fund a full course of 20 counselling sessions for five women.
Mr Hamid said: "The centre's work is invaluable in supporting women who are experiencing mental health issues, domestic abuse and low self-esteem and we're thrilled to know that our donation will make a lasting difference for a number of these women."
Kavita Oberoi, entrepreneur and Derby Women's Centre patron, has applauded the gesture. She said: "It's fantastic to see a Derby business supporting the work of Derby Women's Centre in this way. It is a vital resource for local women."
Yasmin Nazir, chief executive of Derby Women's Centre, said: "We're extremely grateful for the generous contribution from Loss Recovery Services."
She said the waiting time for women needing counselling had come down recently from 12 weeks to four-to-six weeks but added: "Donations such as this will help us to offer support more quickly to the women who reach out to us for help."
There are several ways to donate to the centre.
Donations of up to £10 can be made by texting COUN01 and the amount to 70070 (for example COUN01 £5).
Credit and debit card donations can be made via the charity's MyDonate page – mydonate.bt.com/charities/derbywomenscentre.
Cheques made payable to Derby Women's Centre can be sent to the office at 4 Leopold Street, Derby, DE1 2HE.

“Well done LRS. Though the generosity of £500 may not be easily matched by another single donor, I'm sure even smaller donations will pay dividends for those who are in need of the service!”
