Sadlergates Black Rock Grill offers a unique and interactive dining experience

The Black Rock Grill, located within Sadlergates Bar and Restaurant in Derby, gives you a different way to enjoy your perfect steak.

The meat is first seared on both sides by our chefs, and then served to you on hot volcanic rock that has been heated to over 400°C. This then allows you to cook your meat slice by slice exactly how you like it, with the volcanic rock staying hot for up to 90 minutes. We serve a variety of different meats including a range of beef steaks, gammon, and prawns. For those of you that are a bit more adventurous our menu also includes kangaroo and water buffalo.

Our Bar includes 30 different world beers, with four on tap and two that change on a bi-monthly basis. We also have an extensive wine list, and fresh tea and coffee is available. The bar and restaurant include modern and stylish décor which promotes a relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

Sessions

On first and third Friday of the month we book specific acts that play two 45-minute sets, and on the last Friday we promote local talent who play all of their own original music. Why not come along and listen to something new.

Sing at Sadlergates

On the second Friday of the month we host a karaoke night with a twist – simply sign up in advance by choosing a song from a huge list of tracks on our website, and our in-house guitarist will play an accompaniment for you on the night (no more cheesy backing tracks!).
