“ Dont get me wrong this place is great and the garlic doughballs are quality. But I prefer Zizzi and there 'Strozzaprezzi Pest Rosso' (apologies to all Italians for the poor spelling, hopefully I've not inadvertantly said something offensive). Staff are polite and attentive so I reccomend and its in a good central location ”

Best pizza restaurant in Derby
“Pizza Express for me is the best Pizza restaurant in Derby. There are two in Derby city centre but I prefer the Iron Gate restaurant as it's a nicer setting. The offers they do are great, so it doesn't have to cost to much for a few courses and a couple of drinks. Although like Johnnyfive I have to agree the beer is a tad expensive.”

Probably the best sitdown pizza in Derby
“It's a bold statement, I know, but the best pizzas in Derby are probably created at Pizza Express. It has (almost) everything - for the casual pizza lover, all the dishes you would expect are there. For the more hardcore pizza fan, there is the Etna (extremely hot) and the Calabrese, which will probably melt your face off. It has a nice selection of starters - especially the garlic dough balls and bruschetta - and the main menu includes salads and pastas, too. For those watching their wasteband, Pizza Express does a legerra range - low calorie pizzas with a hole cut in the middle and filled with salad. Perfect.

The service is always superb at Pizza Express and you won't be waiting all night for your meal, even when it does get very busy. The only real rub is the cost of the beer - a large bottle hits the £5 mark - but when you factor in the seemingly endless offers the chain does, the bill will still be quite low.
Great for families, large parties, or a romantic meal with your partner.”
