Waterfront pub and restaurant opened in 2007
With the inspired use of reclaimed timber and brick, stone flags and period lighting, this privately-owned free house replicates the style of a Victorian canal-side warehouse.
A wide selection of coffee, tea and light bites are served in the lounge from 10.00am, and comfortable leather seating and a log fire help to while away the winter blues. The vaulted bar serves an extensive range of real ales, fine wines and malt whiskies, and is the regular haunt of boaters and the local villagers.
Sensibly priced pub food, freshly cooked to order, is served in the 100-seat restaurant, in the bar and lounge, and on the terrace overlooking the 300-berth Marina. The 50-seat contemporary conservatory, known as the Quarterdeck, is popular with diners and for private parties.
Leading bands entertain every Friday and Saturday night from 10.00pm.
The first floor function room, the Crow’s Nest, can be sub-divided to suit numbers, and is available to hire for weddings, celebrations or for business use.
The spacious and elevated room boasts a well-stocked bar and dance floor, and the open balcony offers splendid views across the marina.
