Rolls-Royce is Derby’s single biggest employer, with around 12,000 staff. The company has been in the city for more than 100 years. Its civil aerospace division is based at Sinfin, where it produces the Trent family of aero engines for passenger aircraft and its marine division, which makes power plants for submarines, is in Raynesway.
