We find the runaway sex fiend
THIS is the moment the Derby Telegraph tracked down a sex offender wanted by Derbyshire police to a secluded village in Switzerland.
Richard Guelbert was jailed for 12 years in 1999 after he was convicted of raping a 15-year-old schoolgirl.

Guelbert, right
He was released after serving half of his sentence on condition he told authorities of any changes in his living circumstances.
But in 2008 he disappeared and the police have been trying to find him ever since.
Last month officers issued a plea to the public for information about the whereabouts of five sex offenders, including Guelbert.
We traced Guelbert using a social networking website, then tracked him down to the village of Obermumpf.
When confronted outside his apartment, he said he was not aware he was supposed to be in Derbyshire.
Meanwhile Guelbert's victim, who is now 27, said she was angry and upset her attacker was able to evade the authorities so easily.
A spokesman for Derbyshire police said the force was aware of Guelbert's location and it was in the process of applying for a warrant to bring him back to England.

“Mark, although i'm guessing your comment was tongue in cheek, i actually like the idea!
there's nothing more vile than a pervert, he should have no rights what so ever, more so now than before considering he had the cheek to think he could simply run away.”

“He should be made to wear a large pointed hat with a bell on it, a bit like Noddy, then there would be no doubt regarding his whereabouts.”

“Send bounty hunters after him. Bring him back to Derbyshire and put him in the stocks outside the assembly rooms.I would gladly pay to throw rotten cabbages at him.The proceeds after a few months will pay for his keep and a new Derby Gaol. And make him work, perhaps he could work on the roads wearing leg irons. Its not against his Human rights compared to what he did, Lets make England strong again!”

“SO the police were already aware of his whereabouts and had started proceedings to get him back by requesting that the Switzerland authorities issue a warrant so they could get him arrested, good stuff so far ;-)
but I am assuming he would not have been aware of this and would only have become aware when he was arrested once the warrant had been granted, so very little chance of him having the cnahce to escape, again good so far ;-)
but now he has been made aware that he has been located before the police have had the warrant granted by the Switzerland authorities whats to stop him doing a runner before he gets arrested?? not so good ;-(”

“Well, now the cat is out of the bag he can go to any EU country he wants and start again. At least in Switzerland he would have had to apply for residency and I doubt he declared his criminal record. A phone call to the Swiss police and he would probably be in detention already.”
