It's a Ruff descent for forces fund
THE boss of a Castle Donington engineering firm has completed a skydive in aid of a military charity.
David Ruff, managing director of Babcock Defence Services, took part in the SSAFA Big Jump at the Army Parachute Centre, Netheravon.
It raised money for the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association Forces Help, for serving and ex-servicemen, women and their families in need of help.
Mr Ruff took part in a tandem skydive, free-falling from 14,500ft, at nearly 150mph, for nearly a minute.
So far he has raised more than £500 and his company has pledged to match his total.
SSAFA expects to raise about £30,000 from the skydive, in which 60 people took part.
The charity is looking for 125 jumpers next year to mark its 125th birthday. Call Laurena Di Bello on 0207 4639297.
