MELBOURNE RFC junior Will Allman has the chance to impress the England Under-16 selectors this weekend.

The teenage forward, who attends Trent College in Long Eaton, is set to take part in a development weekend with the Midlands Under-16 squad at Broadstreet RFC near Coventry.

The squad is due to meet on Friday and the get-together will culminate with two divisional matches on Sunday.

The Midlands will take on London & South East at 1pm, in front of the national selectors, after the North have played the South West.

Subsequently, three sides will be selected to prepare for the programme of internationals later in the season.

England Under-16s will play Italy Under-17s at Lichfield on April 1 and Wales Under-16s at Oxford University on April 6.

England North and England South will compete in the annual Wellington International Festival in Berkshire from March 30 to April 5, alongside teams from Wales, Scotland, France, USA, Belgium and Holland.
