Empty shops and a poor choice for us in Alvaston
I REMEMBER a few years ago when the residents of Alvaston were given the chance to look at plans for Alvaston and so far very little of it has been done.
I prefer to go to Allenton as it's a smarter shopping area, with lots more choice including a market.
There are a few empty shops in Alvaston. I hope we get more of a choice. No more takeaways or charity shops. Fruit shops or a real butchers would be ideal.

“Ah! I remember when there wasn't a Fairground Burger Van. When there were shops where people would go and buy food and take it home and prepare it.”
