The actress played Brenda on the original 90s show, Beverly Hills 90210, and has reprised the role in the new spin-off series, 90210.
"I adore Brian, and Brian and I have always had a really good, strong relationship," Shannen told America's OK! magazine.
Brian played David Silver on the original series, and now stars in another TV series - The Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
"The only thing about bringing him to 90210 is that I wouldn't want him not on The Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles," Shannen added.
"He is so good and it's one of my favourite shows. So I want him back really badly, but at the same time, I love watching that show and I love watching him in it."
Shannen had nothing but praise for the young cast of the new show.
"They are really smart kids, they don't need that much guidance!" she said. "They are very talented, they are all adorable, they are all sweet. The cast gets along really, really well and they're all fantastic."
