Burton Albion: Brewers begin life in League Two with trip to Shrewsbury

BURTON Albion start their first-ever League Two campaign with a visit to last season's beaten play-off finalists Shrewsbury Town.

Albion will travel to the New Meadow to take on Paul Simpson's side on Saturday, August 8.

The Brewers’ first home game, which follows their trip to Reading in the Carling Cup, will be against Morecambe on August 15.

Three days later, Paul Peschisolido’s men host Torquay United – the other team to come up from the Blue Square Premier.

Burton travel to Port Vale on Boxing Day, followed by home games against Notts County, on December 28, and Lincoln City, on January 2.

Albion bring the curtain down on their inaugural League season at home to Grimsby Town on Saturday, May 8.
