Burton Albion: Table doesn't mean anything to Brewers boss at this stage
The Brewers travel to the Darlington Arena tomorrow only three points away from the play-off zone.
In contrast, their opposition are six points adrift at the bottom, with only one league win to their name so far this season.
However, Peschisolido wants his players to approach the match just as they would if they were playing the team at the top of the table.
"The league table doesn't mean anything to me at the moment," said the Albion boss.
"It makes no difference to me whether we are playing a team at the top or the bottom.
"Form can change and we see teams around the bottom beating teams at the top on a regular basis in this divison.
"We will go there with the same mindset we aim to have every game – work hard and be resilient at the back.
"We did that in our last league match against Bury and we will be looking to build on that.
"If you don't concede any goals, you don't lose the game. Against Bury, we didn't manage to score ourselves but, more often than not, we will do."
Derby County legend Colin Todd was appointed Darlington manager over the summer but he left the club after a poor start to the campaign.
Former Republic of Ireland boss Steve Staunton, linked with the Burton job before Peschisolido's appointment, replaced Todd in October.
He recorded the club's first league win, a 2-1 success over Shrewsbury Town, is his only home game since taking charge, although the team have since lost three games in a row.
"He (Staunton) is relatively new to the job, so the players will be all fighting for their futures," said Peschisolido.
"He has made a couple of good loan signings and they will be out to impress too."
Burton go into tomorrow's game as bookies' favourites – a sign of the success they have achieved so far.
"At the start of the season, we didn't expect to go into any game as favourites," said Peschisolido.
"The tide is turning a bit in that respect with our recent successes but it is not something I focus on.
"I maintain that if we go into every game with the proper attitude, we have got a chance."
Burton midfielder John McGrath is back in contention after missing last Sunday's 3-2 FA Cup first round win over Oxford City.
But Paul Boertien (knee) and Andy Corbett (abductor muscle) remain sidelined.
Peschisolido was relieved Ryan Austin's last-gasp winner saved the Brewers from a replay and admitted he would be looking to strengthen his squad ahead of the Christmas period.
He said: "We have got a fairly small squad at the moment, so we couldn't really afford a replay because we picked up a couple of niggles and we are building up to a busy Christmas period, when we will need all the squad available.
"I might look to bolster the squad. We could do with one or two more quality players who will improve the squad."
Staunton, who took Hinckley United defender Stuart Giddings on trial this week, is also looking at the loan market.
"I know who we want to get in and I've got plenty of targets," he said.
