Green feeling sharper as he gets name on Rams scoresheet
Green equalised for the Rams shortly after Gylfi Sigurdsson had opened the scoring for the visitors at Pride Park on Saturday.
It was his second goal of the season and his first since recovering from his latest foot operation, and paved the way for Rob Hulse to clinch a 2-1 win.
"It was nice to score," said Green. "It set us up really after having gone 1-0 down and I thought we played some good stuff after that."
The midfielder added: "I thought their goal came from nowhere really. We weren't under pressure or anything like that but then they scored and it put the onus on us to get forward.
"We did that and got a quick goal. It was a great ball in from Tealey (Gary Teale).
"It's always nice to chip in alongside the strikers and Hulsey got a great little finish to win the game after a great cross from Jay McEveley."
Green feels he is gradually building up his match fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
"I'm getting there," he said. "I felt good out there against Reading and I just need a couple more games to really get my sharpness.
"I played on the right and did a job out there. As long as I'm playing, I'm happy."
