Tuesday Talk: All change since play-off showdown
Derby travel to take on the Saints tonight for the first time since the first leg of the Championship play-off semi-final in May 2007.
Both teams have few survivors from the starting line up that clashed in a 2-1 victory for the Rams.
A glance at Saturday's starting 11 when Derby beat Bristol City and Southampton lost at Birmingham shows only two players from each side started the play-off fixture on the south coast less than two years ago.
Goalkeeper Stephen Bywater and left-back Jay McEveley are the two Rams players, and Andrew Surman and Marek Saganowski for Southampton.
Of Derby's starting 11 on the day, Darren Moore, Craig Fagan, Matt Oakley, Seth Johnson, Jon Macken and Steve Howard are no longer at the club. Tyrone Mears is on loan at Marseille, and Dean Leacock and Stephen Pearson are injured.
For Southampton, the big names to have moved on include Kenwyne Jones (Sunderland), Gareth Bale (Tottenham), Jhon Viafara (Once Caldas of Colombia) and Chris Baird (Fulham).
