Full-time: Rams beat Blackpool 4-1
DERBY County produced a fine display to beat managerless Blackpool 4-1 at Pride Park Stadium.
Theo Robinson netted twice for the Rams to take his season's tally to seven, while full-back John Brayford and striker Conor Sammon were also on target.
Blackpool's goal came from a Tom Ince penalty after Richard Keogh was adjudged to have handled in the area.
Derby boss Nigel Clough made two changes to the side that lost 3-0 at Peterborough.
As expected, James O'Connor replaced the suspended Jake Buxton at centre-back, while Craig Bryson was recalled after recovering from a tight hamstring at the expense of Michael Jacobs, who dropped to the bench.
Blackpool were led by caretaker boss Steve Thompson Following the departure of manager Ian Holloway to Crystal Palace.
Thompson made one change to the side that drew 1-1 with Brighton last weekend, Ludovic Sylvestre replacing the injured Isaiah Osbourne (knee).
Derby created the first chance in the sixth minute when Robinson combined well with Will Hughes on the left and fired in a low angled drive which Matt Gilks parried and Stephen Crainey cleared before Paul Coutts could pounce on the rebound.
The Rams were playing some neat football and they took the lead with a fine move that started from inside their own half.
Hughes sent Bryson breaking down the left with a perfectly weighted pass and he in turn found Robinson.
The ball was then worked across to the right side to Coutts, whose low centre found Robinson and his crisp first-time from 12 yards fizzed past Gilks.
Blackpool went close to an equaliser after 20 minutes but Gary Taylor-Fletcher's effort from a Matt Phillips cross was diverted just wide via a crucial deflection off Keogh.
Derby looked a threat going forward and a swift break from Conor Sammon ended with Bryson drilling a low shot at Gilks.
Adam Legzdins came out to save at the feet of Phillips and though the ball broke loose, Keogh was on hand to clear the danger.
Moments later, Sammon released Hughes and his ball across goal only just evaded Robinson.
The Rams doubled their lead just after the half-hour mark, from a short corner routine.
Coutts combined with Jeff Hendrick before rolling a pass to the edge of the area into the path of Brayford, who clipped a first-time shot which curled away from Gilks and into the far corner.
Phillips fired over for Blackpool and Gareth Roberts was called upon for a bit of last-ditch defending from Taylor-Fletcher's cross.
But the final chance of the opening period fell to Derby in added time, with Hughes' 20-yard effort deflecting just wide, with the keeper wrong-footed.
The Rams started the second half brightly and it was a shock when Blackpool suddenly found themselves back in the game.
Sammon lost possession, allowing Phillips to break and when his shot was blocked by the sliding Keogh, referee Mick Russell awarded a penalty for handball.
Legzdins guessed the right way and got a hand to Ince's low spot kick but could only help it into the corner of the net.
Boosted by the goal, Blackpool might have levelled moments later, only for O'Connor to crucially block Taylor-Fletcher's goalbound strike.
However, the Rams restored their two-goal advantage in the 54th minute.
Robinson pounced on a poor pass from Kirk Broadfoot, breezed past Alex Baptiste and slid the ball neatly under Gilks from an angle.
Elliot Grandin tested Legzdins, while Brayford tried to lob Gilks after robbing Taylor-Fletcher, though his effort was off target.
Derby's fourth goal came in the 65th minute, when Robinson found Coutts, who delivered a low centre from the right.
Sammon was waiting in the middle and could not miss from close range.
There was no way back from here for Blackpool, despite their best efforts.
Robinson received a hearty ovation from the home fans when he was replaced by Nathan Tyson and Clough gave Kieron Freeman a first taste of Championship action, as a late substitute.
The third substitute, Michael Jacobs, went through on goal late on but was crowded out by Gilks.
