Transfer Talk: QPR, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Ipswich Town, PNE, Leeds United

Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 14:40

Championship side QPR are considering a bid for Nikola Kalinic of Hajduk Split.

The 20 year-old is highly rated by Croatian national team coach Slaven Bilic, who has called him ''the future of Croatian football''

After a couple of loan spells he came back to Hadjuk and has scored 19 goals in just 28 appearances for the first team. For the Croatia national teams he has an even better record, from the U17s to the U21s, he has scored 30 goals in 35 games.

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock has confirmed his interest in signing Fulham's out-of-favour striker Collins John.

Warnock is hoping to boost Palace's attack before the close of the transfer window and has been linked with several players.

Former Holland Under-21 international John is the latest player to have been tipped for a move to Selhurst Park.

And Warnock admits that he is keen to sign John on loan once he has assessed the 22-year-old's fitness.

"We are interested in Collins John, but we want to watch him in a reserve game first," said Warnock.

Alex Bruce has not told friends he is leaving via Facebook after a national tabloid reported otherwise earlier today.

Bruce is hoping to win his second cap for the Republic of Ireland later today against Norway. After reportedly telling friends he was leaving Town on Facebook exit, he said 'It's a load of rubbish.'

Better news for Blues fans is that he wants to prolong his stay at the club despite being linked with moves to Preston North End and Leeds United.

'Yes, I've got a year left on my contract and it's up to me to show the gaffer that I'm worth a new deal but all I'm concentrating on at the moment is playing my part in us winning football matches,' he said.
