Dangerous tiles removed following public concern

DANGEROUS roof tiles had to be removed from a Derby house after safety concerns were raised by passers-by.

Firefighters were called to the terraced property in Cecil Street at 2.30pm today.

They spent more than two hours removing the tiles after a fire station officer had assessed the risk.

A spokesman for the fire service said they had not been able to contact the owner of the property, which is why they had decided to remove the tiles.
