Six youths bailed after suspected arson at egg factory
SIX youngsters who were arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack at a Derbyshire business have been bailed.
The children, aged between 12 and 14, were arrested after a massive blaze at John Bowler Eggs, in Hilton Business Park, on Sunday.
The fire, thought to have been started deliberately, gutted a lorry cab and four trailers containing pallets, egg boxes and 8,500 eggs, causing £350,000 damage.
Two girls aged 13 and one aged 14, as well as three boys aged 12, have now been bailed pending further inquiries.
Firefighters from Ascot Drive, Kingsway, Swadlincote, Duffield, Ripley and two crews from Staffordshire were called to the site on Sunday afternoon.
Smoke from the blaze could be seen for miles around, with witnesses on the A50 and A38 reporting the fire to police.
A joint investigation by Derbyshire police and the county's fire and rescue service is ongoing. Anyone with information should call police on 0345 123 3333.

“If the six are convicted of this, the parents should be made to pay for the damage it would work out at around £58,500 each.
Every penny should be taken from them, no excuses, stop it from their wages or benefits, hardship is the only way these little b*****ds will learn a lesson when they cant have everything they want.”

“I hope they and their parents will realise that incidents like this threaten lives and jobs. It is not a victimless crime.”
